A limited company is a type of business structure in the UK that is legally separate from its owners. This means the company is its own legal entity, responsible for its own debts and obligations. Owners (shareholders) have limited liability, and the company must file its own accounts and pay Corporation Tax. Limited companies offer some tax advantages and protection, but also come with more admin and reporting requirements than being a sole trader.
