Investors’ Relief is a Capital Gains Tax relief for individuals who invest in shares of unlisted trading companies. If you qualify, you pay a reduced rate of CGT (10%) on gains from those shares, up to a lifetime limit. It’s designed to encourage long-term investment in small and growing UK businesses, so there are conditions on how long you must hold the shares and which companies qualify.
