Making Tax Digital

« Back to Glossary Index

Making Tax Digital (MTD) is an HMRC initiative to move tax reporting and record-keeping online. Under MTD, businesses and landlords need to keep digital records and submit tax information using compatible software. The goal is to make tax administration more efficient and reduce errors. MTD currently applies to VAT and is being rolled out gradually to other taxes like income tax and corporation tax.
