Output VAT is the Value Added Tax (VAT) a VAT-registered business charges its customers when selling goods or services. This tax is collected on behalf of HMRC and must be paid over in your VAT return. The total output VAT you charge, minus any input VAT you’ve paid on business purchases, determines your final VAT bill.
